Class of '98 Today...

Mindy (Hepworth) Haywood

It's so fun to see everyone's updates and families! Here's a little synopsis of the last ten years of my life. After graduation, I went to the University of Utah. During my three years of undergrad, I went to Europe with the U's A Cappella choir and did a lot of theatre, including spending a summer performing at the Playmill Theatre in West Yellowstone. In 2001, I graduated from the U of U with an Honors BA in English and History. I then took a job working for Sylvan Learning Centers. I met my husband, Kris, when we were both in a production of Brigadoon at Rodgers Memorial Theatre. We got married in the summer of 2003. I kept working for Sylvan Learning Centers and eventually became the District Educational Manager over five centers in Utah. I went back to the U of U and graduated with a Master of Education degree in Teaching & Learning/Reading & Literacy and also earned my secondary level teaching license with a K-12 Reading Endorsement. In January 2007, we had our daughter, Halle Elizabeth. About a year ago, I left Sylvan to take my current job with Allen Communication Learning Services. I'm now an Instructional Designer. Basically, I get to write and be creative (which I love), and I get to use technology to bring my design ideas to life in web-based and instructor-led training courses for Fortune 500 companies. I also get to work from home one day a week, which is really convenient. My husband is in his last year of culinary school and it's fabulous because I don't cook. J We're both involved in a little theater called the Empress out in Magna that we helped open back in 2006. In 2004, we bought our first house in West Jordan and lived there for almost four years. We bought a new house in Woods Cross in April of this year. It's nice to be home in Davis County again. It's busy being a mom of a toddler and working full-time, but there's never a dull moment. Mindy - so good to hear from you and to see you're doing well. Cute little family - I have one about the same age as yours. Fun but tough stage because you can't understand every word. :) I'll never forget seeing you at The Playmill that one summer. You did so great... it's still one of my favorite places to go every year! Take care.

Mindy, it sounds like you've been busy. Your daughter is adorable. We live in Woods Cross too, where are you at?
